AVO loves this best seller from Subaru but we were disappointed in the available engine choices. It really should have gotten the turbocharged motor from the WRX, but Subaru decided not to. So there was only one thing to do!
AVOTurboworld has drawn upon its extensive history in turbocharger kits to design this low mounted, high response turbocharger kit that will increase engine output nearly 80%! The XV, Forester & Impreza 2.0i FB20 is a great chassis in search of more power, and that is what we deliver! Similar to our popular turbocharger kit for the BRZ/FR-S and our earlier model XV, it is mounted underneath the engine, very similar to the factory setup of the new WRX. This short runner setup maximizes boost response and minimizes lag, providing the torque the car craves.
The AVO Turbocharger kit is designed to work with both RHD and LHD models in all countries. The turbocharger kit is designed from top to bottom specifically to the XV, and consists of all the parts necessary to bolt the kit up to the car. It utilizes an AVO18/49 billet turbocharger that mounts up under the front of the engine via our ceramic-coated stainless steel equal exhaust manifold, and then has a flange to fabricate your own exhaust. There is an option for a front pipe assembly that can bolt to your standard OEM cat back exhaust system. Cooling the pressurised air is an aluminium bar and plate front mount intercooler which uses stainless piping throughout. A mechanical oil scavenging pump that works off the back of the driver’s side camshaft, oil reservoir tank, and all necessary water and oil hoses and fittings are included in the kit. This turbo kit has been designed to bolt up to the stock air intake box and to the stock cat back exhaust system. The FMIC has been specifically designed to fit with the standard bumper without trimming as well. Black wire-reinforced silicone hosing is used out of the turbocharger plus silicon joiners.
So what can you expect from this kit? Tested in Thailand we seen from 120hp up to 190hp @ 5psi boost over a 50% power increase. What transforms the feeling of the car is the torque. With this turbocharger kit the torque comes on early, providing that big engine feel that the Crosstrek lacks. Torque that's not only useful for getting up a hill, but useful when you are towing a trailer or carrying a bunch of gear into the mountains for a weekend getaway!

While it required a little creative modifications of my car, thanks to US model differences, this kit was somewhat easy to install and took about 20 hours total. Once my car was Tuned, this turbo kit shaved a full 2 seconds off my quarter mile time, and reduced my 0-60mph by one and a half seconds. So much more fun to drive.
